Kemija u industriji |
Kemija u industriji (English translation: Chemistry in Industry, abbreviation: Kem. Ind.) is an open-access peer-reviewed international scientific journal published by the Croatian Society of Chemical Engineers (CSCE), Croatia. It is the official journal of Croatian Society of Chemical Engineers and Croatian Chemical Society (CCS), financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth of Republic of Croatia and partly supported by business corporations (Supported by).
Kemija u industriji journal publishes original scientific papers, review papers, preliminary communications, short communications, and professional papers in the fields of:
• chemistry
• chemical engineering
Conference papers are considered for publication when organized by institutions cooperating with the publisher and undergo the same evaluation process as regular papers.
Conference papers already published in proceedings will not be considered for publication.
The journal also publishes other types of articles, such as opinions, commentaries, reports, and practical information (for details, see Instructions for Authors), as well as contributions within permanent or periodical sections, including Environmental Protection, News and Notes, Calendar of Events (Congresses, Symposia, Exhibitions), Book Reviews, Chemical Education, and others.
Photocopies of the articles are available through The Genuine Article delivery program of the Institute for Scientific Information, 3501 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 USA.
The journal has a broad regional and international orientation – currently, approximately 75% of published scientific papers are in English. Nevertheless, Kemija u industriji particularly fosters Croatian chemical and chemical-engineering nomenclature and terminology.
Papers are published in Croatian or English. Authors of scientific and professional papers are required to submit the summary, title and subtitles both in Croatian and English. The writing should be clear, concise, free of grammatical or typing errors, and written in third person (impersonal). The paper should be written in the assumption that the reader is familiar with the field being discussed.
Papers are accepted based on the originality, scientific quality, and clarity and conciseness of the writing. The editorial process emphasizes transparency, editorial integrity, and collaboration with both international and regional researchers.
Kemija u industriji is indexed in: Web of Science™ Core Collection – Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), ABCD Index, Analytical Abstracts, Askbisht, Asian Science Citation Index (ASCI), Cabell's Directory – Cabells Journalytics, Chemical Abstracts Plus (CAPlus), Chemical Engineering Abstracts, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Abstracts, Chemischer Informationsdienst, CrossRef – DOI depositor, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources (ROAD), EBSCO Host – Academic Search Complete, EBSCO Host – Academic Search Premier, EBSCO Host – Academic Search Elite, EBSCO Host – Academic Search Ultimate, EBSCO Host – Academic Search Alumni Edition, EuroPub, Google Scholar, Hrčak - Portal of scientific journals of Croatia, Index Copernicus International – World of Journals (ICI), InfoBase Index, J-Gate, Mir@bel, Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers (Nordic list), Referativnyi Zhurnal, Scilit – A database of scientific & scholarly literature, SHERPA/RoMEO, Theoretical Chemical Engineering Abstracts, ULRICHSWEB – Global Serials Directory and many other databases.

All published papers are evaluated by three anonymous reviewers (single-blind peer review) by three independent experts, selected internationally by Editorial Board.
A paper will be accepted for publication only if it receives positive evaluations from at least two reviewers, after which the Editorial Board will notify the author.
Reviewers are selected among international experts in the relevant field. Authors may suggest potential reviewers; however, the Editorial Board is not obliged to accept their recommendations.
The review process typically lasts approximately four weeks, and the rejection rate is about 30%.
NOTE:
Before submission, authors are strongly advised to have their manuscript checked for English language and grammar by a native English speaker. Manuscripts with inadequate language quality will be rejected during preliminary evaluation, prior to the initiation of the peer-review process.
The journal is not obligated to publish manuscripts in the order of their receipt. Each published paper shows DOI number as well as dates when the paper was received and accepted as indicators of rigor of peer review and quality management of published content.
The Journal follows the Code of Conduct recommended by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their contributions, and all submissions must be accompanied by a signed cover letter confirming that:
• no institutional regulations related to the content have been violated, and
• the manuscript has not been submitted elsewhere.
All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and duplicate submission. In confirmed cases, COPE recommendations will be followed, and all parties involved will be duly informed.
Before submitting your manuscript, please read the Publication Ethics and Copyright Policy sections carefully to ensure compliance.
Kemija u industriji has been published continuously for more than 70 years, serving chemists and chemical engineers since its founding in 1952, following the earlier bulletin Pregled tehničke literature i dokumentacije (Technical Literature and Documentation Review dated 1951), which became incorporated under the same title.
